Don't know if you have seen this video on YouTube by the Black Eyed Peas or not, but they were performing their hit song "I Gotta a Feeling" on the Oprah Winfrey show and it is NOT to be missed (pay close attention to the lady dancing "alone" up front). Oh yeah, turn it up nice and loud...
So amazing, right? Did you catch how awkward it was when just the one woman was dancing at the beginning? I mean, you have this cool song with tons of energy to it, but with that huge crowd just standing and watching it made the one lady look a bit wacky.
BUT, how quickly that changes when some other folks start to get involved. It only went from one person to about ten, but all the sudden dancing along with the song became a cool thing. Kinda a cool concept right?
Well, joining a Life Group isn't much different (I know, you are like whatever Mike, you are making a huge stretch here aren't you?). Stick with me for a moment here and I will make this a bit more simple.
Here is the deal. If you are going along in life trying to do the "Jesus" thing all alone it can be a pretty lonely, dare I say even, at times an awkward situation. BUT, how different is that pursuit of Jesus when you aren't doing it by yourself? When you have others standing (or dancing:) alongside you that can change everything (check out this pic of some of our Life Groups Leaders at their training for this Fall (over 25 groups to choose from:). What awesome peeps we have here in NB!.And that is why I want to encourage you to join a Life Group this Fall. Seriously folks. Just think about that video you just watched. God has designed us as relational beings and as humans we thrive with human interaction. Therefore I really want to encourage you to consider becoming part of one of our groups this Fall.
Would you be willing to join out our Life Groups, Life Classes or Clubs as a possible next step on your journey this Fall? Click here to read more about these different opportunities as well as sign up immediately.
Hoping you won't end up dancing alone this Fall:) - pastor mikey
